Overview of the Program:
Established by legislation in 2006, the Mississippi Virtual Public School (MVPS) is a tuition-free program that offers students the option to enroll in online courses to supplement their traditional brick-and-mortar education.
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has contracted with Connections Education to operate the MVPS. Students throughout Mississippi now have access to Connections Education’s innovative online courses and experienced, responsive teachers.
A student is limited to 2 Carnegie units per school year through this program. Registration for courses is completed through an on-site coordinator at the local public high school. Participation in this program is determined by each district. To find out if this program is being sponsored in your area, contact the local public high school or district central office.
