School Financial Services
The Office of School Financial Services is responsible for the administration, calculation and/or distribution of Mississippi Adequate Education Program (MAEP), Education Enhancement funds, Master Teacher reimbursements, Chickasaw Cession reimbursements, Critical Shortage Moving Expense reimbursement and oversight of the Critical Shortage Home Loan Program. In addition, the staff of the Office of School Financial Services is responsible for providing technical assistance and guidance to public school districts in the area of school financial management. This involves assisting school districts and other entities in their budgeting, fiscal and program operation.
Additional responsibilities include the collection and review of financial data from the local school districts and the review of local school district indirect cost applications and the calculation of indirect cost rates which districts apply to their federal programs. This office also performs technical reviews of public school districts' financial reports to determine compliance with Accreditation Standards.
